The first is the English Contest, which is a special event for FS Unwar students because it invites several participants from SMA/SMK (high schools) in Bali. For this time, the new arrivals were from Denpasar, Badung, Tabanan, and Klungkung. It is hoped that in the future the committee will deliver more intense information to several other regional districts in Bali. The purpose of this activity is said to be the first of course for a promotional event where it can introduce that Unwar has a quality English Literature Study Program with human resources owned by almost 50% of lecturers with Doctoral degrees then there is a good and adequate Language Lab and has international classes that can be used as Live Labs so students can learn to practice and improve their English skills directly with international class students. Besides the English Contest, several events will also be held including a Casual Walk, Music Performance, and Talk Show which will present speakers related to entrepreneurship, how to function and language ethics, as well as how to open up business opportunities through their language skills. These activities are a series of events that are featured at Faculty of Letters Unwar in order to celebrate the Anniversary of Faculty of Letters Unwar and introduce the English Literature Study Program to the wider community.
Vice Rector for Student Affairs of Unwar Dr. Ir. I Wayan Parwata, MT, IPM., really appreciates this English Contest because it can be a promotional event for Unwar, especially the Faculty of Letters. It is hoped that next year Faculty of Letters Unwar will be able to prepare this event between universities in Bali and even outside Bali because in addition to being a ranking material for campuses as organizers, it can also create a learning atmosphere for students in this debate field which will later be prepared to take part in debates at the LLDikti, national, and even international level.
