The Dean of Faculty of Letters Universitas Warmadewa as well as the Chair of Warmadewa International Program, Prof. I Nyoman Kardana said, the students of WIP studied at Unwar for one semester. On average they take 5-7 courses with the number of credits between 15-20 credits. They will attend lectures from Monday-Wednesday from 08.30 - 16.00. Thursday is a special day to carry out the workshop. During the workshop, foreign students were given the opportunity to dance and also practice Balinese gamelan. They are also given the opportunity to make offerings. Men are given the opportunity to make Balinese food. So that they not only learn in class, but also have the opportunity to know Balinese art and culture. "Today is the first day they enter our campus," he said. Each new class begins with an orientation day. At the first meeting, it will be presented about Warmadewa University, introduction to Balinese culture, traffic rules, introduction to diseases in Bali and Indonesia. Managing Director of Asia Exchange Harri Suominen said it was an honor for foreign students to be able to study in Bali, especially at Warmdewa University. They also want to learn new skills and get the best experiences of their lives. "And studying in Bali is a good opportunity for all students," he said. They come from Germany, Scandinavian countries and other countries in Europe. "But we also have students from America including Asia," he said. But basically many want to apply to study in Bali. He hopes that more students from various countries will study in Bali. The Rector of Universitas Warmadewa, Prof. Dr. Dewa Putu Widjana said that the number of students participating in WIP showed that this program was well known, especially in Europe. Even last year there were students from America and Australia who joined this program.
From several times handling international class, he hopes
that in the future it will be better. Of all the countries that participate in
WIP, students from Germany most often participate in this program. "We use
these students to socialize the programs that we have in their own countries. I
hope that this year the quality is getting better. So that students from abroad
are getting more and more interested," he said. Chairman of the Bali
Province Korpri Welfare Foundation, Dr. Drs. A A. Gede Oka Wisnumurti, M.Si.
said, this program is a form of commitment to make Universitas Warmadewa go
global and become a global university. In addition, this WIP is also
Warmadewa's contribution to promoting Bali at the international level. Through
this WIP, the advantages or local values of Balinese content can also be
raised at the international level. The momentum of student attendance is a
strategic momentum. Because the academic path is considered to be able to
transform the superior values of Bali, Indonesia to be universally applied.
