The Faculty of Letters of Universitas Warmadewa (FS Unwar) held a Student Organization (ORMAWA) in the Sri Ksari Mandapa Conference Room, Unwar Rectorate on Friday (31/01/2025). Students who were inaugurated today will become administrators of the COMETS (Commitee of English Students) student organization, BEM, and DPM for the 2025/2026 period.
The Chairman of the Committee, Putu Agus Arya Darma Putra in his report said that this event had been prepared for approximately 1 month and was a series of Student Organization Training (POK) and Student Deliberation (MUSMA) events that had been held on January 14-15, 2025 and on January 25, 2025.
The purpose of this activity is said to be to officially inaugurate new cadres as part of the Faculty of Letters / LM-FS Student Institute members and ratify the new chairman to provide legitimacy or recognition of his leadership and symbolically confirm that the chairman has the responsibility to direct the organization in a better direction later.
Dean of FS Unwar, Dr. Drs. I Wayan Ana, M.Hum in his speech congratulated and success to the management of the FS Unwar student organization which was inaugurated today and did not forget to thank the management of the previous period of student institutions for being dedicated in carrying out their duties.
For the record, student organizations are said to be very important in the faculty and university environment. And today, these student organizations, namely COMETS, BEM, and DPM will be inaugurated. This event is said to be not just ceremonial but to make promises, commitments, and responsibilities as ORMAWA administrators.
He also said that sitting in the organization and participating in developing organizational activities certainly aims to support the vision of the study program, the vision of the faculty, and the vision and mission of the university. Student organization is a respectable institution and very important role in campus life, because this organization is a forum for students to develop talents.
"Therefore, once again I emphasize that student organizations are very important in campus life. But I also advise that you should not make activities that are local in nature, meaning in the campus environment only. Please make bigger activities, for example regional, national. Of course, in order to support the Go Global University program, please carry out international activities," he concluded.
He also emphasized that he would be ready to help and support all forms of organizational activities that are productive and creative in order to develop student organizations for the better and support the progress of the institution.
