Unwar Hosts Three National Events: KJI, KBGI, and LDBI

Universitas Warmadewa has once again been honored to host three national events simultaneously: the Indonesian Bridge Competition (KJI), the Indonesian Building Construction Competition (KBGI), and the Indonesian Language Debate Competition (LDBI). A gala dinner with the Acting Governor of Bali was held before the events began, marking the full support of the Bali Provincial Government for these prestigious competitions.

Initiated by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) and the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), these events further solidify Universitas Warmadewa's standing as a respected educational institution. The opening ceremony, held at the Widya Sabha Uttama Auditorium, was attended by 18 finalist universities for KJI and 16 for KBGI. Meanwhile, LDBI, with participants from 38 Indonesian provinces and one Indonesian School Abroad, was opened at the Gunapriya Darmapatni Mandapa (GDM) building. The participants showed great enthusiasm as the competitions kicked off.

The Rector of Universitas Warmadewa, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gde Suranaya Pandit, MP., expressed pride in the trust placed in Unwar to host these national events. "This is a showcase of excellence and intellect from students across Indonesia. They are here to compete in arguments, intellectual challenges, and demonstrate monumental works, particularly in the fields of engineering, planning, and Indonesian language skills," he stated.

Prof. Pandit further remarked that these events offer participants the opportunity to hone their knowledge and technology skills in the digital era. He hopes that this platform will prepare students for the challenges of building a prosperous Indonesia by 2045.

The Chairman of the Korpri Welfare Foundation of Bali Province, Prof. Dr. Drs. Anak Agung Gede Oka Wisnumurti, M.Si., also expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) for entrusting Universitas Warmadewa to host these three national events. "Many universities from across Indonesia have gathered here, making this a significant moment to showcase Universitas Warmadewa's capability in organizing such prestigious events," Prof. Wisnumurti remarked.

He also hoped that participants would not only compete but also enjoy Bali's beauty as local tourists. He emphasized that collaboration between the government, businesses, and universities must continue to ensure the success of both national and international events, contributing positively to Bali's tourism.

According to Prof. Wisnumurti, the selection of Universitas Warmadewa as the host was the result of a rigorous selection process, and it is a source of pride for both the university and Bali. "This selection was not spontaneous but came through careful consideration, and we are proud to host these events," he concluded.

Retno Juni Rohmaningsih, the Head of General Affairs at BPTI, stated that BPTI continuously provides support and facilities to participants interested in literacy and technology. "We not only provide a platform at the national level but also encourage them to achieve international recognition," Retno added. She also noted that hosting three events at Universitas Warmadewa left a very positive impression.

The Acting Director General of Vocational Education at Kemendikbudristek, Tatang Muttaqin, S.Sos., M.Ed., Ph.D., also shared in the excitement of the finalists from all over Indonesia and the Indonesian School Abroad. He praised their enthusiasm and spirit, which provided inspiration and motivation to continue creating and innovating. According to him, the 2024 KJI, KBGI, and LDBI are not just competitions but also opportunities for the finalists to develop both soft and hard skills, applying the knowledge they have gained while showcasing their competence in construction and debate. Indonesia is a great nation with a generation of talented individuals ready to become the golden generation of 2045, and he hopes that all young people will continue to create and innovate for the progress of the country.
