The Faculty of Letters Universitas Warmadewa held a Curriculum Improvement Workshop for the D4 Tourism Study Program on Monday, May 27, 2019 in the Sri Ksari Mandapa Meeting Room Unwar.

Head of LLDIKTI Region VIII, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Dasi Astawa, M.Sc., and Deputy Assistant to the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Wisnu Bawa Taruna Jaya, SE., MM with the moderator from the Dean of the Faculty of Letters Unwar Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Kardana, M. Hum.
Chairman of the Committee Drs. I Nyoman Mardika, M.Sc., said the workshop was held to get input from both presenters and stakeholders (stakeholders) related to the improvement of the D4 Tourism curriculum, Faculty of Letters Unwar. Previously, the curriculum had been discussed by the team for the formation of the new D4 Tourism Study Program, Faculty of Letters Unwar through the mechanism of several meetings to compare it with the curriculum of several universities. The curriculum that had been made still needed improvement. For this reason, input from the speakers and participants, especially stakeholders, is highly expected so that the curriculum that has been prepared can be refined so that it is more mature and ready to proceed to Ristekdikti.
Rector of Universitas Warmadewa, represented by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Unwar Ir. I Nyoman Kaca, M.Sc., said that as is well known, D4 Tourism is a vocational program so that after they graduate, they will get an applied bachelor's degree. This is in accordance with the president's mandate through the ministry. Vocational is encouraged to be formed to meet the industrial world. So that in the preparation of the curriculum there must be a rational balance between theoretical and practical. There are several aspects that need to be considered, namely coherent, comprehensive and systematic.
Head of the Bali Province Korpri Welfare Foundation, Dr. Drs. AA Gede Oka Wisnumurti, M.Si., gave full support so that this could run well and thanked the stakeholders who had helped. He said Unwar under the Korpri Welfare Foundation of Bali Province will always give its best contribution to improving the quality of this nation's human resources both locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally. As a commitment to that, we will always provide changes and improvements as well as provide alternative choices for our human resources to be able to gain knowledge/skills and provisions to enter the business world, the world of work and face global challenges. We know Bali is a tourism area. As a tourism area, of course, one of the study programs/fields that must be occupied/obtained by many parties is in the field of tourism. Unwar with his vision of ecotourism that puts forward the environment and it is realized that tourism will be sustainable if the environment is maintained. Many new tourist objects are formed due to an unsupportive environment, so it is like a living museum. It would be interesting if ecotourism was offered to young people for them to pursue. Because with ecotourism we see tourism as something that is alive and dynamic.
